Miss Rosemary Duke was awarded the title of Miss St. Florence 1957.

A successful jalopy race meeting was held at the Kilgetty track organised by the Kilgetty Jalopy Racing Club. A large crowd saw a high standard of racing.

Miss Ann Evans, of Gelliwen, was Queen of St. Clears Carnival. Her attendants were Miss Ina Jones and Miss Iona Jones. Dr. Haley, president of the St. Clears Sports and Carnival, and Mrs. Haley crowned the Queen.

Tenby Round Table’s annual beach sports, one of the highlights of the season for holidaymakers, attracted large crowds to the North Beach. There were so many entries that many heats had to be run and the standard of competition was as high as ever in all classes.

On several evenings, the skirl of bagpipes was heard in Tenby. The pipes formed an integral part of the band of the 102nd Ulster and Scottish Light Air Defence Regiment RA. They were in camp at Penally and raised £100 for Tenby Rotary Club charities.

Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society’s two-day show at Withybush broke all attendance records with an estimated final figure of 32,500. Entries were high in all sections, totalling well over 1,000, including many Royal Welsh Show winners.
