Pembrokeshire rugby history was made by two Tenby rugby players. Both Brian Diment and Gwyn Robins had played in winning Welsh club sides against the Australian tourists. Diment played at fly-half and, in fact, dropped a goal for Swansea when they defeated the Wallabies at St. Helens. Robins played open-side wing forward for Llanelli when they defeated the tourists 11-nil.
The Territorial Army Centre at The Norton, Tenby, was declared surplus to the requirements of the TA Association.
A company of over 100 spent an enjoyable evening at the Royal Gate House Hotel on the occasion of the annual Ladies Night organised by Tenby Lodge of Freemansons.
The familiar tones of St. Mary’s Church organ would not be heard for the next month or so. The 100-year-old organ was undergoing its first major overhaul in its long history. Meanwhile, the organist, Mr. Albert Bevan, would be accompanying the services on a harmonium.
