May 27, 1966: Alderman Ivor Crockford was officially installed as 577th Mayor of Tenby.

For the second year running, Tenby Rotary Club’s Harold Jackson Memorial Award was won by a member of the 4th Tenby Guide company. The award was made annually to the outstanding member of Tenby’s youth organisations. Winner was Miss Susan Bliss, of Culver Park.

Llawhaden YFC broke Clynderwen’s long run of success as Pembrokeshire’s YFC rally champions at Haverfordwest. Young Farmer of the Year was Mr. Dennis Reed.

The first annual district sports of the South East Pembrokeshire Boy Scouts was held on the sports ground of the School of Artillery, Manorbier, by kind permission of Brigadier N. W. Routledge OBE.

Pentlepoir Carnival Queen for 1966 would be Judith Richards, of Clayford, Kilgetty. A record audience of pupils, parents and friends attended the carnival concert. Her six attendants would be Beverley Wilkins, Shirley Ollin, Amanda Booth, Trudy Ebsworth, Mandy Williams, Elizabeth Morgan.
