Pictured at the opening of the new art exhibition at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery on Friday are: Bob Fish, ex-Darts lead singer; trustee Hywel Thomas and Heather Fish.

The exhibition, entitled Deck The Walls: Works of Art as Perfect Gifts, features works by 11 artists working in various mediums, including ceramics, paintings, glasswork and sculpture: Jack Ashley, Julian Brown, Eden Evans, Grahame Hurd-Wood, Ian McDonald, Mick Morgan, Doug Perry, Steve Robinson, Paul Roche, Darren Yeadon and Sarah Young.

At the opening, where committee members of the Friends of Tenby Museum served warming spicy mulled wine, Bob Fish played bluegrass and country music on the autoharp, including cover versions of songs by Bob Dylan and Ben E. King, as well as self-penned numbers, and was joined by his wife Heather reading poetry to music.

The entertainment was enjoyed by all and added a celebratory feel to the event.

On Saturday, despite the inclement weather, Mary Lewis, Thelma Mort, Mark Lewis and Doug Perry opened the museum on a voluntary basis for an open day with free admissions for all.

Kathy Talbot and Margaret Day, of the Friends committee, once again provided refreshments in the form of home-cooked mince pies. This marked the last weekend day that the museum is open in 2009.

All of the art works in the exhibition are available for purchase and the museum offers the interest free Collector-plan Scheme.

The museum is open Monday to Friday, 10 am to 5 pm (last admission 4.30 pm) until December 18.
