Sir,
May I through your columns take this opportunity to offer my sincere thanks to everyone associated with the very successful Jubilee Festival and Summer Carnival held last weekend in Kilgetty.
The whole weekend was an enormous success and enjoyed by a large number of local residents and visitors.
My special thanks go to my fellow committee members from the Begelly Kilgetty Community Association who organised the event, for all their dedication and hard work in putting together a magnificent show.
Thanks also to the Kingsmoor Sports Association for their tremendous support and assistance; to all the volunteers who helped in so many different ways; to our sponsors to whom we are most grateful; to all the stall holders and craft exhibitors; to all the performers and artists who so entertained us; to all the owners and drivers of the vehicles who entered the very first 'Bulldog Mile' historic parade; to all the participants in the Summer Carnival who really made it such a spectacular parade; and finally to everyone who came along and supported the events and enjoyed themselves.
This was the very first time we have attempted an event on this scale and we are proud of the contribution made to community life in our two villages. We hope the success will inspire other people to come forward and assist with the many exciting projects we are now starting. So come on Begelly and Kilgetty we have shown what can be achieved by co-operation and some effort, let's all make a positive contribution and get involved.
Once again my thanks to everyone who assisted or helped in any way.
David Pugh,
Chairman,
