Following on from the spectacular Jubilee Flower Festival at St. Mary's Church, Tenby, a Festival of Memorial Posies, entitled 'In Loving Memory, took place from Thursday to Sunday, July 12 - 15.
At an afternoon tea in Church House last Wednesday, cheques totalling £1,840 were presented to Phil Thomas, of Ty Hafan Children's Hospice, and Tim Davies, of The Paul Sartori Foundation.
The money was raised during the Memorial Posy Festival, when over 270 yellow and white memorial posies and stands were displayed throughout the church. Each arrangement was dedicated in loving memory of a family member(s) or friend(s).
The Posy Team would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the festival, especially the sponsors of the memorial posies and stands; the wonderful group of volunteers who arranged and distributed the flowers; Dr. John Harrison for his contribution of music; Tenby Junior School Choir and St. Mary's Tenby Handbell Ringers; The Griffon Choir, who raised £360 with their concert; Canon Andrew Davies for his continuing support; and The Flower Girls of Saundersfoot, who delivered on time in spite of a 'crushing' accident.
Everyone is now looking forward to the next Memorial Posy Festival during July, 2013.
