Sir, For years, we have read comments in the paper, invariably from visitors, regarding dog fouling in the area. Until now, we have resisted the temptation to share an experience we had some years ago whilst in Tenby one evening (we lived in Saundersfoot at the time). We parked in Southcliffe Street and on our return saw a 'gentleman' allowing his dog to foul the pavement. When we politely pointed out the offence to him, to our surprise his reply was, 'We're on holiday here, you want our money, so you can have that as well!' which could only be met with disbelief, as is the reasoning behind the doggy bags used and then deposited in the hedgerows and in one case on a post outside a neighbour's house. Yes, we have been dog owners since childhood and hope to continue to be responsible owners for more years. We are, however, equally fed up with the fact that some people refuse to be responsible for their pets.
Marilyn and Peter Mitchell,
