A popular Pembrokeshire recording duo are about to sign-off with a CD of some of their best-loved songs.
Double Image, which consists of Tenby born Billy Cole on vocals and guitar and Martin Richards, of Pembroke Dock, on keyboard and harmonies, are releasing the album, 'Our Favourites', after deciding to call it a day as a duo after 21 years.
"We've played social clubs in Tenby and Saundersfoot and around the area for 21 years, and also a residency at the Park Hotel," said Billy.
"We've also found ourselves playing as far afield as Swansea to the east and Aberaeron to the north, so it's been a great time and on a personal note I'd like to thank Martin for his brilliant support over the years, which I'm very grateful for."
The album, which was recorded in studios in Narberth, features 13 of the favourite songs the duo have performed during their time.
"The album also features a young lady Lisa Evans on one track called The Rose, which was great to record as it offered Lisa, who does a lot of choral singing, her first experience of going into the studio," explained Billy.
Martin has played the keyboard for 40 years, while Billy, who first picked up the guitar in 1957, formed his first band in 1960, called The Tremeloes.
"Another band got there first with the name, though, and they were a bit more successful!" he laughed.
"I've been playing guitar for over 50 years, so I aim to carry on my solo work and various gigs at folk clubs, but it's good to know that my grandchildren in Penally, Harrison and Beck, have taken up the guitar and will be carrying on the mantle it seems, so the future looks rosy for guitarists in the family," continued Billy.
"A special thank you goes to Nick Swanell, of Studio 49 in Narberth, who has been great to work with, and also BB Skone on Radio Pembrokeshire ,who interviewed me recently and gave us a plug for the album," he added.
