A family were rescued on Friday by Tenby's D class inshore lifeboat after becoming trapped by the incoming tide.

They had walked into the cave on St. Catherines Island to explore the rock pools, but were unaware of the speed of the incoming tide.

A member of the public informed Milford Haven Coastguard who then requested the town's ILB to investigate.

The family were picked up and landed on the South Beach to waiting members of the coastguard rescue team. The ILB then returned to station.
