Family and friends of a popular sportsman have been left devastated by his tragic death.

Thirty-one-year-old Sebastian Palin, who grew up in Manorbier, died in Thailand on February 23.

Affectionately known as Seb, he was born in Liverpool, but moved to South Pembrokeshire when he was 16.

He attended Greenhill School, Tenby, before attending Swansea University where he graduated with a media degree.

Seb worked as manager at The Paddock Inn, Penally, and as a trainee manager at The Broadmead Hotel, Tenby.

He then later moved to London and worked at Foxtons estate and lettings agency in Wimbledon where he was their youngest ever manager.

Together with his wife of three years, Victoria, they moved to Plymouth to help care for Victoria's seriously ill father before he sadly passed away last year.

Seb leaves his wife Victoria, mum Helen, dad Rob, elder sister Charlene and brother-in-law Ste, nephew Alfie and niece Megan, sister Imogen and partner Ben, and nephews Phoenix and Orlando, sister Olivia and her boyfriend, Sam, and youngest sister Eleanor, together with grandparents Marian and Bob Palin, mother-in-law Helen, brother-in-law Rob and grandmother-in-law Pru.

Seb, a massive Liverpool fan, was an avid footballer and cricketer and played for Carew. He was also a keen golfer.

Many of his friends joined family for his fairytale wedding to Victoria in Florence in 2012.

Last Sunday, Seb was due to have run the Newport half marathon in aid of MIND - one of his 10 marathons he had pledged to run this year. In his honour, his sister Olivia and her boyfriend Sam took part. Sisters Olivia and Charlene, together with friends of Seb's now plan to run the Plymouth half marathon next month, for which he was due to raise money for St. Luke's Hospice and MIND, in his memory.

In addition, his teammates at Plymouth City Football Club, where he was captain, held a memorial match where they laid wreaths and held a minute's silence. They are also organising a friendly match at the end of the month and raising money for the hospice. A further memorial event is being planned locally by Tudor Lodge, Jameston.

A celebration of Seb's life will be held locally, but at the time of going to press, funeral arrangements had not been finalised. All inquiries should be directed to Messrs. W. and M. J. Rossiter and Sons Ltd., tel. 843160, who will be carrying out the funeral arrangements.
