Two lifeboats, Tenby's all-weather boat, the RFA Sir Galahad, the resort's inshore craft, together with the coastguard rescue team were called out last Wednesday evening after a report that a person was stuck on the cliff between Saundersfoot's Glen Beach and Monkstone Point.
But, on investigation, a fisherman was located on the south end of Glen Beach who, when spoken to by the ILB crew, confirmed he was happy to remain at the position.
The teams were then duly stood down and the call was treated as a false alarm with good intent.
