Would you ever consider letting a giant millipede the length of your hand crawl up your arm? Or having an enormous slimy snail slither across your palm? How about petting a giant hissing cockroach or two?

According to Folly Farm, Begelly, this is the kind of thing kids can't get enough of! This half-term, there will be a spine-chilling Hallowe'en twist on their usual 'pet handling' sessions.

'Creepy Crawly Pet Handling' sees a variety of strange and exotic creatures on view to the public, who will be given the chance to hold them if they wish!

According to Laura Jones, Folly Farm's pet centre supervisor, the idea of handling these bizarre and fascinating creatures appeals to children's curiosity and is extremely popular.

She said: "Children are usually told to look but not touch when confronted with something new and unknown.

This is a great chance for kids to satisfy their curiosity about a variety of unusual and interesting creatures, and to handle them under careful supervision.

Children seem to be a lot braver than adults, and although none of our creepy crawlies are harmful, the idea of handling them seems to scare most adults - although they're welcome to have a go if they wish!"

Alongside the creepy crawlies, there will be lots of other Hallowe'en attractions at Folly Farm over half-term, including pumpkin hunts and Hallowe'en picture trails with prizes, a spooky Hallowe'en House, scary face-painting, lots of creepy decorations, a special Hallowe'en menu and an eerily educational bone yard puzzle with real skulls!
