A local wildlife worker has issued a plea to the owners of an escaped exotic bird which was found on the road in The Norton, Tenby, on Saturday afternoon, to come forward to claim their pet. Maria Evans, who runs the Tinkers Hill sanctuary at Amroth, is looking after the bare-eyed cockatoo which is known for its unusual looks. The valuable bird is also highly regarded for its intelligence and talking ability.

Maria is baffled as to why no-one has come forward to claim the pet and why there has been no police reports on it being missing.

Anyone with any information about where the cockatoo is from can contact Maria on 01834 814397.
