During the summer term, over 200 pairs of children's feet trod the paths at Colby Woodland Gardens. They were armed with various drawing materials in search of the spectacular colour, textures and shapes in the ever-changing natural world of the gardens. They spent a day documenting their findings in drawing, painting, photography and tempory sculpture.

The eight schools taking part were Stepaside CP, Monkton Priory MJCP, Pentlepoir CP, Pennar Infants CP, Tavernspite CP, Saundersfoot CP, Golden Grove CP and Pembroke Dock Community School.

With the professional arts team from Sculpture by the Sea (Cerflun ar lan y Mor), they took their intial findings and translated them into exciting artworks in school.

The vibrant collection of sculpture, collage painting, images of site specific sculpture, tempory sculpture and photography is displayed in an exhibition at The Bothy next to the tea rooms at Colby Woodland Gardens until the end of October. You can also view some of the work at http://www.sculpturebythesea.co.uk">www.sculpturebythesea.co.uk Sculpture by the Sea is now running workshops inspired by the autumn season at Colby Woodland Gardens with four schools.
