ON Sunday, August 5, the Torch Theatre presents an evening of new writing as part of their script development programme.
Local teacher and novelist - Dave Ainsworth - will perform his one-man shown 'Oh Hello'. 'Oh Hello' is about the life of popular 'Carry On' star Charles Hawtry. Little was known about Hawtry's private life, but Ainsworth's meticulous research reveals a highly complex character, very different from his on-screen persona.
It will also be a chance to see once again the Torch Theatre's adaptation of Ian McEwan's chilling story 'Conversation with a Cupboard Man'. The show was first seen at the Torch Theatre in March of this year; it has since played to great success at the Royal Shakespeare Company's Summer Festival in Stratford-upon-Avon. Following this revival at the Torch, it will go on to play at this year's Edinburgh Festival.
So make Sunday, August 5, different from all the other Sundays. A free evening of cultural entertainment. Don't miss it.
Tickets may be booked through the box office (tel: 01646 695267).
