Eatonfield Homes, part of the Holywell, North Wales-based Eatonfield Group of Companies, has acquired the six-acre Spring Gardens site in Whitland upon which it intends to build predominantly affordable homes aimed at the local first time buyer market. Eatonfield will build a total of 66 units, of which 53 will be two-bedroom semis. The remaining 13 homes will be three and four-bedroom detached properties. Construction is scheduled to start in November and the development will take about 18 months to complete. This will be Eatonfield Homes' first residential development in South Wales. Commenting about his company's acquisition of the land at Whitland, group MD, Rob Lloyd, said: "As a company, we think it is very important that as many as possible of the homes we build are affordable to the people living in the area. "This is what attracted us to this site and therefore think that it is a fitting start to our house building programme in South Wales."
