TWO new exciting exhibitions are being staged at the Queen's Hall, Narberth.

The first features Susan Sands whose show is the first of a new monthly series of one person shows at the hall's Cafe Ole, open now until October 10, from 10 am - 5 pm daily except Sundays.

Susan Sands trained at Reading University and is a founder member of the Greenwich Printmakers, a print co-operative with its own gallery in South East London.

Her work has shown at the Festival Hall, Barbican and other London venues as well as overseas. She moved to Pembrokeshire in 1991 where she continues to use experimental techniques in printmaking, which along with her painting has become more abstract.

Her recent summer exhibition at Tenby Museum showed her current interest in collage and monoprint, mediums that allow frequent opportunities for inventive colour combinations, improvisation and sheer fun!

The second show is the work of Stuart Evans, called 'Du a Gwyn/Black and White'; these dramatic monochrome landscape, lino print images are based on the slate industries of Wales and Vermont, USA.

The subjects of his prints have also been influenced by his job at the Ceredigion Museum in Aberystwyth and the sea and landscapes of Mid and North Wales. Some images have been used to promote the area and used as postcards sold in the museum shop. Foreign travel has also inspired his work and recent shows have been at the Aberystwyth Arts Centre and Theatre Mwldan, Cardigan.

The current show runs in the Queen's Hall Gallery from tomorrow (Saturday) until October 5, 1 am - 5 pm Monday to Saturday.
