Pembroke Autograss Club recently hosted the West Wales Open Championships.

As usual, the track was in excellent condition (partly due to the machinery which the league has and partly due to the hard work of members - thanks to everyone who helped).

Saturday was like a club race meeting with visiting drivers, who competed in two heats and a final for prize money.

Sunday saw the car numbers grow, and the excellent array of silver cups were put on show.

A big thank you to everyone who supported the West Wales Open; also thanks to the drivers and supporters who e-mailed positive remarks, stating how much they enjoyed their weekend - after all, this open is known as the 'Friendly Open'.

The next race meeting at the Lamphey race track is this Sunday, starting at 12 noon.

Steve Freeman, PAC 103, is having a successful 2004 season in his Willacy Oil sponsored Starlet of Chester, powered by a B. and J. Vauxhall Engine. At the West Wales Open, Steve had a clutch problem on the Saturday, but on Sunday achieved second and third placings in his heats and fifth in the class three final.

To see Steve, along with many other top contenders in the British series and nationals, why not go along and witness the action at Lamphey this Sunday. For more information, contact Charlie (PAC secretary) on 07790309223.
