A Narberth based family run business that produces woven and printed labels for clothing has gone completely off grid with the installation of their new solar panels.

Based at Redhill MIll, Narberth, Woven Labels UK, is a nationwide manufacturer of woven and printed labels for schoolwear and the fashion and textile industry, from a factory here in Pembrokeshire, Wales.

Thanks to the new solar panels fitted by Photon Project Management, through rain and snow, the factory is now entirely run off solar power, reducing its environmental impact whilst still providing the very best in service and products.

This is one of the many steps in Woven Labels UK’s mission to make the company as green as possible; values that are close to the family and what they strive for.  Woven Labels UK now uses recycled yarn in the production of woven nametapes and labels and the Woven Labels UK printed range of labels is made with either recycled satin or 100% cotton ribbon.

Another step the company has made in reducing its carbon footprint is the installation of electric car charging ports in the car park for those wishing to have a greener commute to work.

General Manager Hugh Lloyd said: “We’re extremely happy with the progress being made here; we’re passionate about reducing our environmental impact and this has been a great improvement.”
