Tenby’s Deputy Mayor was recently invited to YG Ysgol Greenhill for a private viewing of their latest art exhibition.
Deputy Mayor, Cllr Tom Sloan - a contemporary artist himself - said that the exhibition served as a wonderful celebration of creativity across the ages, showcasing work from a wide range of year groups.
From the expressive projects of the younger pupils to the sophisticated work of GCSE and A-level students, the breadth of talent on display was truly impressive.
Disciplines ranged from fashion design and textiles to intricate architectural drawing and sculpture.
“Beyond the finished products, the exhibition highlighted a remarkable depth in the students' creative process,” stated Cllr Sloan.
“It was a pleasure to see such high-quality preparatory work and sketchbooks on display, which demonstrated the extensive research and critical thinking being fostered within the school.
“The level of technical skill in the drawing and dimensional work is a credit to both the students' dedication and the high standard of teaching at Ysgol Greenhill.”
During the visit, future collaborative opportunities between the Council, the school, and the pupils were also discussed.
“Tenby Town Council is proud to see such talent and commitment being nurtured within our local schools. Congratulations to everyone involved on a fantastic exhibition,” added Cllr Sloan.
Ysgol Greenhill offered a huge congratulations to all its incredibly talented pupils and dedicated staff for making its recent ‘Evening of the Arts’ such a wonderful success.
“From the stunning artwork displayed throughout the exhibition, to the delicious catering and the outstanding musical performances, every aspect of the evening showcased the creativity, skill, hard work, and passion that make our school community so special,” the Tenby secondary school shared on Facebook.
“Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, effort, and talent to create such a memorable event.”
