Unsung volunteering heroes and those that came out in their droves to support the successful SaundersFEST on the weekend have been thanked by the event’s organisers.

Great weather over Friday to Sunday greeted festival-goers at the new event held in the Saundersfoot, which featured a wealth of talent across various venues and some big names performing.

“From picking up rubbish to flipping burgers, manning car parks, directing festival goers, cleaning portaloos and going on emergency dashes to buy more loo roll (oh and of course organising the event in the first place), SaundersFEST would not have happened without our huge army of volunteers,” organisers posted on social media on Monday.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you for all that you have done with a smile on your face whatever was asked of you!”

Celebrating live music, the community and supporting a number of charities and good causes, SaundersFEST was run entirely by volunteers and supported by a number of local businesses.

The Festival launched on Friday with ChoirFEST – a celebration of music being hosted by the fabulous Choirs for Good with a number of Welsh based choirs joining in.

Popular local band Footbridge ended the evening off with live music from Saundersfoot Sailing Club.

On Saturday and Sunday there was live music all across the seaside village, with the focus of the weekend’s music on the Main Stage at the Sports Field where there were a number of very exciting live acts playing, including Old Time Sailors, with the grand finale on Sunday being a dapper Wynne and Mark Evans, Victoria Joyce and local choirs such as Tenby Male Choir finishing off the celebrations.
