The Torch Theatre welcomes a stellar cast to its stage this autumn of Turn Of The Screw. Milford Haven actor Samuel Freeman and Penarth’s Seren Vickers will guide you through the haunted, fast-paced, heart pounding thriller.

Actor and musician Samuel Freeman attended Torch Youth Theatre, going on to train at Bath Spa School of Music and Performing Arts. This will be his sixth Torch Theatre production following Of Mice and Men, Beauty and the Beast, Jack and the Beanstalk, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.

Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama graduate Seren Vickers’  theatre credits include Jordan Baker in The Great Gatsby (Theatre Clwyd); Llewellyn in HENRY V (Storyhouse Theatre); Lady Macbeth (The Barbican Theatre, Plymouth) and Gwen in Hail Cremation (National Theatre Wales).

Seren is thrilled to be realising her long-held ambition of working at The Torch Theatre in this autumn production, full of psychological intensity, wit and mystery. The classic ghost story, originally written by Henry James in 1898, will leave audiences questioning reality, wondering what’s believable and what’s not.

The Torch Theatre’s Artistic Director Chelsey Gillard said: “This version of Turn of the Screw is an opportunity for these two brilliant actors to show their skills and give virtuoso performances.I love working with Sam and it’s been a dream of mine to work with Seren for about ten years – so I can’t wait to start rehearsals soon. Keep your eyes peeled for behind the scenes glimpses over the next few weeks. ”

The Turn of the Screw will appear on the Torch Theatre stage for a two week stint from Wednesday, October 8 to Saturday, October 25. BSL performance is on Tuesday, October 14. Book tickets via the website torchtheatre.co.uk or call the Box Office on 01646 695267.
