Following the incredible success of The Wind In The Willows last year, members of the Torch Youth Theatre return with a rip-roaring comedy adventure that’s bound to make your evening go with a bang!

This July, talented young people aged seven to 18 from across Pembrokeshire will amaze audience members with The Bangers and Chips Explosion.

Adapted from the outrageously fun book by teacher turned writer, Brough Girling, the play follows the action at St Gertrude’s Primary School.

This is a school which is about as unremarkable as you can get. Nothing interesting ever happens there...until the children go on strike to get chips with their lunch. Desperate to prevent all out mutiny the hapless Headteacher, places a job advert in the local paper, and some unusual chefs take up their posts, lighting a fuse that only one unlikely hero can put out!

“We are just so excited to be bringing this show to the Torch!” said Tim Howe, director of the show and senior manager of youth and community at the Torch.

“I first read this book when I was the age of our youngest performers and have loved it ever since. Filled with hilarious, larger than life characters, madcap adventure, and plenty of laughter the book has something for all our young people to get their acting chops into! We are incredibly lucky that Brough has given us permission to bring his story to life and we know our audiences will love it too!” added Tim.

The Bangers and Chips Explosion will be performed on the Theatre Stage on July 21, 22 and 23 at 6.30pm. Tickets are adult £10 and £8 concessions.
