Award-winning spoken-word poet, author and comic Pete (the Temp) Bearder unfolds a journey of music, comedy and lyricism, ‘Romantics, Mystics & Revolutionaries’, on the Torch Theatre stage on Wednesday, November 11 (age guidance 16+).

The Romantic movement was an act of defiance against industry and the mechanisation of the soul. What do their dreams of renewal offer our age of despair? This story of riot, anti-slavery, mysticism and psychedelics is told through the lives of poet renegades Samuel Taylor Coleridge and William Wordsworth.

A former Hammer & Tongue UK Poetry Slam champion, Pete’s work has been featured on BBC Radio 4, Newsnight and the World Service.

Part storytelling stage-show, part performance lecture, the show starts at 7.30pm.
