The Curator and Trustees of Tenby Museum and Art Gallery had the pleasure of welcoming Dame Vikki Heywood DBE, her husband Sir Clive Jones and Peter and Cerys Griffiths to the Museum, to thank them for the support they have given to the venue.

On the visit, held on Saturday, May 23 they were also given a tour of the newly refurbished Museum and Art Gallery.

Dame Vikki Heywood is a Trustees of the Foyle Foundation, a charity which has operated for the past 25 years as a grant making trust distributing grants to UK based charities (primarily arts and learning).

The Foyle Foundation completed its grant giving programme at the end of 2025, which including a generous donation of £35,000 to the Museum situated on Castle Hill.

Trustees also took the opportunity to thank Peter Griffiths OBE for generously giving his time to assist Trustees to focus on their future strategic approach.

Peter, who was born and educated in Tenby is a prominent British finance service executive with over 40 years of leadership experience in the banking world.

The Chairman of the Museum, Neil Westerman, thanked both Vikki and Peter for the support they have given at an important point in time in the Museum’s history.

He stated that the Museum will be celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2028 and the support given will ensure the Museum is in a good position to continue its long history.

The newly appointed Curator, Anita Schwartz added her sincere appreciation and looked forward to working together on future projects.

Recently, Tenby’s Mayor was on hand to open a new Contemporay Art Exhibition at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery - which as well as featuring local artists, also sees the work of Manic Street Preachers’ Nicky Wire on display.

The exhibition runs until September 4.
