A special Tenby arts festival beginning this month will focus on the film work of iconic Welsh actor Richard Burton.

The ‘Richard Burton A Life In Film’ festival will run from September 22 to October 4 at various venues across the seaside town.

It will kick off on Monday, September 22 with an exhibition opening at the De Valence Pavilion’s community hub.

The following night will see a film showing of ‘Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?’ at the De Valence venue at 7pm; with ‘Who's Afraid of Burton & Taylor?’ - a dramatic reading written by Mark Lewis, with an introductory talk on the making of the film takig place the following night at 7pm.

On Friday, September 26 there will be a ‘Q&A’ between Angela V John (author of the new Philip Burton biography) and Mark Lewis, at St John's Church Hall, on Warrent Street at 7pm; whilst on the following evening, Mark will give a talk on the films of Richard Burton at 7pm.

On Monday, September 29 there will be a showing of ‘The Spy Who Came In From the Cold’ with a specially written introduction at 7pm.

The following evening, on September 30 - ‘The Courage of the Solitary’ a dramatic reading on the making of The Spy Who Came In From The Cold written by Mark Lewis will take place at 7pm.

Thursday, October 2 there will be a showing of ‘Look Back In Anger’ with specially written introduction at 7pm.

The festival will conclude with a talk on Richard Burton by Mark Lewis at 7pm on Saturday, October 4.

All events will take place at Church House unless otherwise stated.

Tickets for individual events are £5; with a Festival ticket £30.
