Saundersfoot Footlights is proud to present Made in Dagenham, a bold, uplifting musical inspired by true events.
Set against the backdrop of 1960s Britain, the story follows a group of female sewing machinist in 1968 working at the Ford factory who, when finding out they are being paid less than their male colleagues for the same work, find the courage to stand up for fairness, dignity and equal pay in the workplace.
What begins as a local dispute grows into a movement that would help change the course of history.
At its heart, Made in Dagenham is about community, resilience and the power of collective voices. It celebrates people who don’t set out to be heroes, but become so simply by refusing to accept injustice. Alongside its powerful message, the show is filled with humour, warmth and a vibrant score that captures the spirit, energy and optimism of the era with a mix of industrial anthems and comedy numbers.
Follow the story of Rita and the Dagenham girls as they stand together, discover their strength, and show how ordinary people can achieve extraordinary change.
A spokesperson for the Footlights shared: “We invite you to sit back, enjoy the music, and be swept up in a story that remains as relevant today as it was over half a century ago.
“Thank you for supporting local theatre, and we hope you enjoy the show.”
The show will run at the Regency Hall venue from Monday, May 25 to Saturday May 30, from 7pm.

Please note, this show contains some strong language that reflects the attitudes and expressions of its time.
