After three years’ absence, Saundersfoot Chamber for Tourism has got together with many of the organisations in the village (in particular thanks to Saundersfoot School, Rotary, Community Council, Regency Hall, Christkindl and Footlights) to provide something special to show off what a magical place Saundersfoot is at this time of year.

Many families come to Saundersfoot during the warmer months, when the sun is shining and the sea looks inviting, to take in the stunning scenery and enjoy a traditional ice-cream or tasty fish’n’chips overlooking the beach.

Sandcastles, beach walks, rock pooling, water sports, independent shops, fine dining, coffee shops and coastal walks - all add to the lure of visiting Saundersfoot in the summer.

But what about in the winter?

There is something more magical about Saundersfoot’s Village when Christmas is approaching. The village lights up with beautiful white icicles hanging from the buildings. A tall Christmas Tree lights up the centre of the village and Christmas Cabins with seasonal gifts, authentic German Christmas fayre, Roasted Chestnuts, musical entertainment stretch between an archway of twinkling lights. The shop windows are dressed beautifully with Christmas themes, tempting you to take a look inside. There is nothing more refreshing than wrapping up warm and taking a walk on the beach to then stop off in one of the local cafes or pubs for a seasonal meal and a mug of something hot whilst relaxing in front of a log fire.

Saundersfoot School will open the festival on Friday, December 2 with carol singing to accompany the official turning on of the Sensory Garden Lights at 5.30pm. The school then return two weeks later displaying their amazing Lanterns in a parade through the village. Saundersfoot has a thriving set of charity and voluntary groups including the RNLI, Cancer Research, Guide Dogs for the Blind and Rotary who will be there in one of the cabins for you to support and marvel at the tremendous work they do. You can visit a Pantomime, listen to live music, experience a spa treatment, choose from a variety of Christmas menus, enjoy mulled wine and mince pies, browse leisurely around the numerous independent shops for that local, unique gift attend a Christmas wreath making class, listen to a choir bringing Christmas to life, attend a midnight mass church service, watch a stunning fireworks display over the sea at New Year, join in the frivolity of the famous New Year’s Day swim AND ALL whilst listening to waves crashing on the beach.

Sounds idyllic doesn’t it? We think so too.

So why not join us from December 2, 2022 to experience a Coastal Christmas in Saundersfoot?
