Pembrokeshire’s glorious coastline and offshore islands have landed a leading role in what is set to be one of this summer’s top cinema hits.

The Ballad of Wallis Island - starring Carey Mulligan, Tim Key, and Tom Basden - is a heartfelt comedy about an eccentric lottery winner who reunites a former folk duo for a private concert.

Filmed on location along the West Wales coastline, the island scenes were shot on Pembrokeshire’s RSPB nature reserve, Ramsey Island, making it undoubtedly one of the big stars of the film.

Accessible by boat from the Pembrokeshire mainland, the island is a haven for birds with buzzards, peregrines, guillemots, fulmars, kittiwakes and razorbills nesting on the island plus dolphins and seals frequenting the surrounding waters.
