There were plenty of reasons to smile at Pembroke Dock’s Family Fun Day on Saturday.

For one thing, the event wasn’t rained off, despite some very dark clouds and ominous weather predictions for the day. Instead there was plenty of opportunity for local children to enjoy all the free entertainments on offer.

Supported by the Mayor, the Family Fun Day took place in the town’s Memorial Park on August 26 and offered children a hot dog, a book, a drink, sweets and turns on the inflatables - all for free!

In addition there was live music, as well as various stalls and a fully licensed bar.

A Summer Raffle was held, with amazing prizes donated by local businesses Stackpole Inn, Pembroke Castle, Heatherton, Folly Farm, Manor House Wildlife Park, Wild Lakes, Petals of Pembrokeshire and Tesco. All money raised will be donated to the Mayor’s chosen charity.

Following the event, the town council commented that it was “a great day enjoyed by all in the community.“ They added that there were “lots of happy faces at the Memorial Park” and thanked everyone involved for supporting the event.
