The popular Swansea Printmakers Exhibition at Narberth’s Oriel Q Gallery has been extended to Saturday, July 5 with the addition of guest printmaker and gallery member Susan Sands showing her work in the window.
Trained at Reading University as a painter, Susan later became excited by the new range of marks printmaking offered and began experimenting with etching, lithography, linocutting, silkscreen and mono printing, enjoying this new extension to ways of expressing herself.
Following her post graduate studies at the Sir John Cass School of Art and the London College of Printing Susan became a founding member of Greenwich Printmakers, a group still active in South East London.
Susan says: “Nothing equals the surprise and delight every time I lift the paper off the inked-up plate on my press. I even add printed marks to my paintings now to give them extra force and vitality.”
Oriel Q Gallery invites you to informally meet the artist and ask questions on Saturday, June 7, 11-1pm at 11 Market Street, Narberth, SA67 7AX with no pre-booking necessary.

See the gallery’s website for information on print workshops running during this exhibition, and details for entries to the up-coming summer show ‘Trees’ running July 12 to August 31.
