Jan Hill demonstrated to fascinated members how to pot spring flowers at the meeting of Tenby Friendship Club last Wednesday.
Using various sized pots and tubs, she showed how to plant bulbs or plants into compost, and then add some daffodils still in their pot into the middle, so that the daffodils could be changed for another flower to keep adding different looks to the pot. A trough with a water holder at the base took two pots of daffodils and needed very little watering.
The ideas just flowed and the display mounted up.
Members were also answering a garden quiz. When Anne and Victor had finished marking the papers, three ladies had an equal number of points, so Jan asked another question and Alison was the winner of the biggest and best pot, with Anne P and Pam then able to choose their pots. About a dozen pots were given out to the nearest best answers of the quiz.
The afternoon concluded with a cuppa and biscuits. Orders and payment for the meal at the Billycan on Thursday, February 9 is asked for as soon as possible. There will be no meeting at Augustus Place Hall on Wednesday 8, please note members! The next meeting is a significant one in the year and will be held on Wednesday, February 15. This is usually a fun meeting with lots of idea being suggested by members.
