Twr y Felin art hotel in St Davids is offering a pre-concert talk before the St Davids Cathedral Festival evening programme on Tuesday, May 28.

Dr Sarah Beynon from the nearby Bug Farm will be discussing her project to bring the locally extinct marsh fritillary butterfly back to St Davids, for which a collection will be taken at the evening’s concert.

Her talk will be followed by clarinettist Emma Johnson, winner of the 1984 BBC Young Musician of the Year. She will be joining Simon Pearce in conversation about her life in music and her ‘Tree of Life’ composition, which was written to convey her thoughts about the ongoing climate crisis.

Beginning at 7pm, the evening’s concert also features Emma Johnson and her orchestra in a programme of music celebrating the beauty of our natural world.

Tickets for the talk, which begins at 4.45pm, are priced at £5 per person and include a welcome soft drink. Places for the talk and the evening’s concert can be booked directly with the Cathedral on www.stdavidscathedral.org.uk

Located on the edge of St Davids with free parking for guests, Twr y Felin is around 12 minutes’ walk from the Cathedral. The hotel is also offering a special two-night stay and pre-concert dinner every evening in their AA three Rosette Blas restaurant.
