Presenter Susan Calman returned to Tenby - the crown jewel of the Pembrokeshire coast - back in May for filming for the second series of her show ‘Grand Week By the Sea’ - with the episode set to be show this Thursday, on Channel 5 at 8 pm.

On Susan’s concluding stop on a seven-day coastal excursion, she arrives in style by taking a tuk-tuk tour of the mediaeval town. She also runs across TV personality Anthea Turner, who talks about her frequent Tenby family vacations.

Susan gets to explore St Catherine’s Island, samples ales at the Harbwr Brewery, and joins members of the Tenby Aces training for Ironman Wales for a swim off the North Beach.

She also meets the town’s only female skipper who invites her on a sea-angling trip before heading to Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo to ride on the vintage funfair.

For the series the travel-loving comedian joins other celebrity friends like Debbie McGee and Dame Arlene Phillips in some of Britain’s best seaside resorts.

“I loved hanging out with all the celebs,” said Susan.

“I loved hearing their stories and feeling the nostalgia and warmth they have for the places. I really had fun. The enthusiasm you see from me is real.

“The coastal towns are all very different, but they all evoke that sense of nostalgia. We used to vacation on an island off the coast of Scotland called Arran. We got there and set up the windbreak and no matter how cold it was we went into the sea. I always remember Mom saying: ‘You’re on your vacation, you’re going to have a good time, go into that sea’ - and we would all step into that sea.”
