Get ready for a nostalgic celebration as the Saundersfoot New Year’s Day Swim commemorates 40 years with a spectacular 1980s-themed party at Sands Nightclub. Join the fun, with entry donations supporting Huntington's Disease and Robotic Assisted Surgery.

In partnership with Sands Nightclub, organisers are thrilled to announce the Charlie Shivers After Swim Party, taking place at Sands nightclub on New Year’s Day to celebrate the 40th Saundersfoot New Year’s Day Swim.

This year, guests will be transported back to the decade when it all began – the glorious 1980s. Expect classic tunes from an era when Benny Bond ruled the decks and Wimpy was the ultimate post-night-out stop.

Attendees are encouraged to raid their wardrobes, dust off their finest 80s outfits, and embrace the swim’s official theme - ruby red.

With the swim starting at 12.30pm, doors will open just after the swim, and families are welcome throughout the day. The party continues late into the night.

Entry is a (minimum) £2.50 donation, with every penny going to this year’s chosen New Year’s Day Swim charities: Huntington’s Disease and Robotic Assisted Surgery, the latter supported in memory of Terry Pugh.

To mark the launch of the Charlie Shivers After Swim Party, several familiar faces from Sands’ iconic 80s era reunited for a special photo – and we’re sure you’ll agree, they haven’t aged a day!

A spokesperson for Saundersfoot Festivities, organisers of the event said:“To mark the 40th swim milestone, the theme is ruby. While it may not be a wedding anniversary, Saundersfoot and the Swim certainly feel like a perfect partnership – and reaching 40 swims deserves a truly sparkling celebration.

“We encourage swimmers and supporters alike to embrace the theme and bring the village to life in a sea of ruby-red costumes and creativity.
