The first official visit to Pembroke Dock and Pembroke from the twin town of Pembroke, Malta, was made recently when, Clrs. Evelyn Brincat and Alfred Mazzitelli from the Pembroke Lokali Council in Malta led a group of six children on the first exchange visit since the towns twinned. The group visited for one week and spent a day at Pembroke School and also visited areas of interest within the county. One afternoon was spent at Folly Farm, courtesy of the management, while visits to Pembroke Castle and the Martello Tower in Pembroke Dock were also included in their itinerary. During their stay, they visited the Pembroke Dock Harlequins RFC, where Clrs. Brincat and Mazzitelli presented, on behalf of the Mayor of Pembroke, Malta, Clr. Joe Zammit, a cheque for £200 to the club. It was presented to the captain, Mr. Robert Hay. During the week, they also visited the Pembroke Dock Youth Harlequins RFC. It is hoped that a rugby tour of the Under 12s will visit Malta at Easter time in 2008.
