The main gateway into Tenby could see a major new look, if town councillors get their wish. At their meeting on Tuesday night, members discussed the possibility of working with Pembrokeshire County Council to improve the area at The Green. "Historically, it perhaps isn't the main gateway to the town, but I think everyone will agree that it is now, and we deserve an entrance that will compliment the town," commented Clr. Mike Evans, who felt that it was time that the railings were updated. This could be done with a possible new style introduced incorporating a welcome message within the fencing or even 'Dinbych Y Pysgod'. "I think that we can do a lot better in that area, and a new style of fencing running up the hill would look fabulous," said Clr. Evans, adding that the town clerk could liaise with the county council's municiple services manager, Rhodri Jenkins, with regards to looking at costings over a possible project.
