Sunday's meeting started with a usual time of heartfelt praise and worship led by Debbie Fiddy and accompanied by Jacquie on piano and vocals, Jacquie and Natalie with Jon on guitar, this time helped along by a new member to the worship team, Dave King, who played guitar and can also played drums, so watch this space folks.
The word was brought to us by Jonathan Fiddy, taken from the book of Genesis and its absolute truth, as many today say you can't believe in this book of the Bible quoting 'It has to be a fable or a fairytale'.
We were given some scientific evidences to back up the legitimacies of the book and were then asked to be very careful not to open any spiritual doors to the enemy (satan, serpent, devil) reminding us that our battle today is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities and rulers of this age a truly spiritual battle... one in which we should be fully equipped to fight having the full armour of God taken from the book of Ephesians firmly placed.
Jesus also can enter our lives if we let Him through the open door to our hearts where the handle is on the inside and that can't be forced. The devil on the other hand is not a gentlemen and does not wait for an invitation; he just barges his way in at any opportunity that arises for him to do so.
Please guard your hearts and minds from this evil and don't give him room, seek after God and His righteousness, the good kingdom where all power and authority dwells and you will be blessed.
Even opening a little door to the devil can have devastating results. Think of a dam with a small crack in it; at first the water will just trickle through, but over a period of time the gap will widen and before you know it you have torrents of water sweeping in, therefore nip it in the bud when you recognise the first signs of evil, repair that small crack with the love of God and don't give room to the devil.
Remember at the first sign of entering into a sin, repent and ask God to forgive you and give you His supernatural strength to overcome the evil one who seeks to rob us of joy and happiness and right standing with our maker. Love is a powerful tool when applied daily in our lives, so also being thankful, for when we maintain a thankful and grateful heart to God, it is much easier to hear what His Holy Spirit is saying to our spirit.
When we get up in the morning, the first thing on our minds should be thanks and praise to God for the new day and asking Him to take control of it on our behalf, for we know we can trust Him to go before us and make any crooked path straight.
