We very much enjoyed coming together for our first service of the year and had an excellent word from Pastor Edward Evans centered around two main scriptures, Jude verses 1 to 4 and Titus 2 verses 11 to 14 concerning our understanding of the grace of God and how it enables us to stand for the truth.

Jude chapter 3 says that we must contend for the faith once for all delivered to the saints and then goes on to reveal how certain men had crept in to the church unnoticed who turned the grace of God into a license to sin.

Today many are living lives even in the midst of the church that excuses sinful behaviour claiming that the Grace of God will cover it.

The Bible speaks of the church as the 'house of God' and the pillar of truth for all society.

If the pulpit is confused about the truth that it has been commited to declare than the pew will be also.

Rather we must stand fast and in a spirit of humility and love, declaring the message of repentance and faith in God which has been entrusted to us.

Many today under the umbrella of 'Love' are tolerating and permitting practises that are unbiblical.

The seeker friendly movement has engendered an approach of so focusing on reaching the culture with a message that is compelling that inevitably the harder hitting and less palatable truths that are essential to hear have become the casualty.

The answer is stated in2 Timothy 4: 1-4 where the aged Apostle Paul leaves a final charge to his protege Timothy in what was to be his last penned epistle

'Preach the Word! Be instant (prepared ready) in season and out of season.Convince rebuke exhort with all longsuffering and teaching.'

We have to be faithful to this message and unashamed of the truth which has been committed to us for in reality it only can transform a human life.
