Pembrokeshire County Council is to close a section of road in Tenby this weekend in order for Transco to carry out urgent works to its gas mains.

The closure will affect Park Road (the A4139) from its junction to Edward Street to the Green. It is necessary so that works can be carried out to replace defective gas mains and make new connections.

Works will start at 6.30 pm on Saturday and will be completed by 6 am on Monday.

Traffic travelling west beyond Edward Street will be diverted at South Parade via Trafalgar Road, Queen's Parade, Station Road, Warren Street, and Greenhill Road to the Green junction.

A one-way traffic flow will operate on Trafalgar Road from South Parade to Queen's Parade to ease traffic congestion.

The one-way traffic flow on Lower Park Road will be suspended for the duration of the closure to allow access to properties.

Access for cars will be maintained to the multi-storey car park and Somerfield, but the exit will be via Penally Hill and Warren Street.

Pedestrian access will be maintained for the duration of the closure.

Pembrokeshire County Council officers have hand-delivered letters to residents living in the immediate vicinity notifying them of the road closure.
