Pembrokeshire College have retained their five-star Food Hygiene rating following a visit from Environmental Health.
The Academy Restaurant, which is run by college staff alongside Catering and Hospitality students retained their five-star rating after a spot-check inspection. The College Refectory, which is run by Chartwell’s, were inspected on the same day and also retained the highest score.
During the inspection, the Food Safety Officer checked how well both food facilities handle, prepare, cook, re-heat, cool and store their food. The cleanliness of the structure of the building, including ventilation and layout was also looked at, along with any systems that ensure that food is safe.
Jackie Mathias, head of HCSILS said:“Our five-star rating demonstrates to our customers that we take our food hygiene standards very seriously.”
Mark Eaglestaff, catering manager from Chartwell’s agreed, commenting: “We’re really pleased that we have retained our five-staff rating again.”
