With the summer term in full swing across Pembrokeshire schools, the Stackpole community are busy organising an End of an Era Celebratory Open Day which will take place at Stackpole VC School on Friday, June 16.

With Stackpole VC School, Orielton CP School and Angle VC School due to merge into the Penrhyn Church in Wales VC School in September this year, the school and village community wanted to host an occasion to mark the closure of the village school that has been open since the 1840s.

An Open Day was agreed upon which will take place in the school on Frida, June 16, from 2 to 7 pm. It promises to be a truly memorable occasion, with a chance to look over past archived material, photographs and memorabilia. An auction will also be held, with furniture and even the old school bell being up for grabs!

Refreshments and cream teas will also be available courtesy of the school’s PTA.

Mrs. Sandra Bryant, base leader at Stackpole VC School, said: “Everyone in our community is incredibly proud of Stackpole School and all it has achieved over the years. We would love to welcome as many current and past pupils, parents, family, staff and friends to the Open Day. Not only will it be a great chance to display memorabilia relating to the history of the school, but it will also be a fantastic reunion opportunity for former families of the Stackpole School community.”
