Pembrokeshire College graphic design student, Scarlett Humphreys spent her summer holidays at London Metropolitan University after being selected for the Urban Sketching symposium.

Held once a year, the Urban Sketching summer school welcomes groups of drawing enthusiasts to a different city to draw on location, capturing what they see from direct observation.

A second year Graphic Design student, Scarlett enjoyed meeting new people.

“It was quite challenging creatively, but everyone was enthusiastic and encouraging, it was a really good experience,” she said.

After completing the Extended Diploma in Graphic Design at Pembrokeshire College, Scarlett plans to study Illustration at university before working on a freelance basis.

Pembrokeshire College’s senior lecturer, Louise Sheppard, commented: “This was a great experience for Scarlett, she produced some interesting work from location which has boosted her confidence. Her drawings look great in her portfolio ready for university!”
