Pembrokeshire College A-level students recently received a visit from the beautiful Burns Reading Dogs as part of Mental Health Awareness Week.

College A-level students welcomed the break from exam revision and relaxed with the dogs in the courtyard whilst enjoying the sunshine.

A-level student, Zoe Coleman said: “Having the dogs around was a great distraction from everything, they were really uplifting!”

The Burns Reading Dogs visit the college on a regular basis, hosting By Your Side reading sessions with Horizon students to help improve communication and confidence skills.

Head of A-levels, Sian Thompson, said: “We arranged the visit from Burns following feedback from our Learner Voice student body, who asked for interaction with animals to help relieve the pressure from their exam revision.”

Further dog relaxation sessions have been arranged throughout May in addition to Yoga classes, Mindfulness session and stress relieving activities.
