It can now be reported that all East Williamston community councillors have completed a recognised training course and are qualified to carry out inspection of all play areas under the council's control. Inspections are carried out on a weekly basis and any problems are reported for action as necessary, thereby ensuring the equipment and surface areas are within health and safety requirements.

Replacement of damaged fencing at Broadmoor had been arranged and would be completed shortly.

It had also been noted that there was growing support for the issue of identity cards to be carried by councillor/inspectors when visiting play areas.

Following council's requests for a crossing to enable pedestrians increased safety from Templebar Road to the bus shelter or shop and post office, a proposal had been received from Pembrokeshire County Council and accepted by council. It was also expected that the bus shelter would be upgraded during this financial year.

Council was required by law to adopt a Welsh English bilingual language scheme. Council had submitted a proposed scheme to which the Welsh Language Board had requested a small number of amendments.

Rural Housing Survey forms were kindly distributed on behalf of council, along with the local community hall news letter.

Following a request, sewerage problems experienced by residents of Millfields were discussed. However, it was confirmed that responsibility, which would have been originally with the developer, would now most probably have passed to the property owners.

Various items had been reported to the appropriate departments of Pembrokeshire County Council for attention during the period and councillors would continue to work for the benefit of the community wherever possible.
