The June meeting of the council was held in the East Williamston Community Hall on Thursday, June 5, and was preceded by the attendance of Mr. Mathew Owen, housing enabler for Pembrokeshire County Council, who paid a return visit to discuss the further possibilities of affordable housing in the area, following which council agreed to carry out a joint survey to establish to what extent a need for this type of housing existed in the area. Members of the community council had met with Mr. Simon Rees, of Pembrokeshire County Council, regarding the bus pull-in and bus shelter at Pentlepoir and it was provisionally agreed that the shelter should be upgraded and that discussions with appropriate departments would be instigated to determine what could be done to eliminate the dangers associated with the pull-in. Inspection of play areas was generally satisfactory with a couple of minor maintenance items being completed. Planning applications were received as follows:- Planning applications for consultation: Extension at 39 Vinyard Vale; Extension at Woodlands, Valley Road; Overhead electric line Devonshire Drive; Change of use for Gypsy Caravan Site, East Williamston; Ground works at above site. Both the above applications were in retrospect and the council questioned why work on any site was allowed to commence prior to planning permission being applied for. Planning applications granted by PCC: Dwelling, Sunflower Lodge, Valley Road; Retention of two static vans, Sunnyvale Holiday Park. Planning applications refused by PCC: Two dwellings, rear Cold Inn Cottage. Items reported to PCC include overgrowth on footway between Holborn Corner and Templebar Road at Pentlepoir, omissions in the emptying of the waste bin outside Pentlepoir post office and the deterioration of the grounds around Pentlepoir School.
