The April meeting of East Williamston Community Council was held in the East Williamston Community Hall last Thursday. Inspection of play areas carried out in March were generally satisfactory, however, one complaint of noisy behaviour during unsociable hours was received and the police would be made aware of this.
The training session organised by Pembrokeshire County Council was well supported, resulting in all East Williamston councillors now being fully qualified to carry out weekly inspections of play areas.
A meeting with a representative of the Royal Mail was to take place this week when it was hoped that an agreement could be reached on the re-siting of the post box in Valley Road, Pentlepoir.
Work had started on the sewerage scheme for East Williamston, although the council's request for connection facilities to be installed for each property simultaneously with the main network fell on stony ground, being refused on all counts by Welsh Water. A meeting was to be arranged with the traffic manager at Pembrokeshire County Council regarding the council's request for a lowering of the speed limit through Cold Inn and East Williamston when it was hoped that some progress could be made in this respect.
Planning applications were received as follows: 06/ 1479/PA - 7 Green Park; 06/1509/PA - Sunny Bank, East Williamston; 06/1522/PA - development, Ashburnham Arms. Pembrokeshire County Council had granted application 06/0912/PA - dwelling, land adjacent Hillcroft Planning applications and appeals refused by Pembrokeshire County Council were: No 06/1479/ PA - 7 Green Park; 06/0466/PA - Devonshire Drive; 05/1579/PA - Hillcroft, Pentlepoir. Council had reported various matters requiring attention to the highways department, including a loose manhole cover at Pentlepoir, overgrowth of hedge near play area in Templebar Road, Pentlepoir, and requirement for re-synchronisation of traffic signals at Cross Inn crossroads, Broadmoor.
The next full meeting will take place on Thursday, May 10, following the annual general meeting at 7.30pm in East Williamston Community Hall.
