At this month's meeting of East Williamston Community Council which took place recently, members were delighted to learn that the Community and Hall Association had been successful in obtaining funding for the equipment required for the children's play area within the Jubilee Park and Nature Trail and that a draft lease has finally been received. Inspection of other play areas had been carried out successfully with no reported problems.

Further to the welcome announcement that the mains sewerage project was to go ahead, it was expected that work would commence during month.

Council received planning applications for consideration as follows: outline planning for the construction of one dormer bungalow and garage at The Burbage, Valley Road Saundersfoot; demolition of ex garage and petrol station and erection of new building for shop, garage and valeting with car sales display area at Ashlea, Broadmoor; change of use of land currently used as a caravan club touring site to a 30 touring caravan site and erection of toilet block at Hillcroft Caravan Site, Pentlepoir.

Information was also received that planning applications had been granted as follows: alterations and extensions at Rosedeen, East Williamston; extension to dwelling at Honey Hill, 4 Greenmeadow Close, East Williamston; demolition of existing and erection of new dwelling at Little Beaconing, Templebar Road, Pentlepoir.

An application for change of use from restaurant to four bedroom dwelling at Greenacre Cottage, Kingsmoor Road, Kilgetty, was refused.

Enquiries had been received regarding the provision of a bus shelter at Hill Rise and this was to be included for consideration at an early date.

The next full meeting, which will include the AGM, will take place on Thursday, May 4, at 7.30 pm in the East Williamston Community Hall.
