The December meeting held in East Williamston Community Hall took place on Thursday, December 4, when nine members and county councillor Codd were present.

Planning decisions received during the past month included: Installation of radio antenna and development ancillary thereto at Pentlepoir Reservoir - permitted (it was resolved to follow up the letter to Welsh Assembly Government requesting a reply to the concerns raised); Proposed conversion of existing garage to playroom and construction of new double garage at Pinewood, Broadmoor (approved); Erection of stable block etc., land south of Clayford Road (approved); New dwelling at Woodstock, Cold Inn (refused).

Following council's request for an upgrade of lighting at Pentlepoir, a reply was to hand stating that the county council had added this to the list for proposed capital funding as had been the request for visibility improvements at the junction of Clayford Road.

Council dealt with the usual maintenance issues and discussions relating to grounds maintenance tenders for Broadmoor and Pentlepoir play areas and East Williamston village green. A debate also took place regarding the county council's policy on play, which had been highlighted in a recent meeting called by Christine Gwyther AM in the Pater Hall at Pembroke Dock. Clr. Codd agreed to take council's concerns on the matter to the full council of Pembrokeshire County Council in the next few weeks.

The Welsh Assembly Government had forwarded copies of the document 'Research and Study into the role of the functions and future potential of community and town councils'. The matter would be discussed at the January meeting with a view to returning the replies within the timescale requested.

Pembrokeshire County Council had also written regarding the review of electoral arrangements within the community which had 1,431 voters and 10 councillors. Council had already written setting out the various recommendations for minor boundary changes; the issue of wards was not applicable as all members represented the whole community.

The bus shelter at Pentlepoir had been used as a WC again. The matter had been reported to Pembrokeshire County Council and the workforce attended to the problem. Anyone witnessing such events should report it to the police.
