Quiz night has come round again in East Williamston and will take place in the Community Hall tomorrow (Saturday).

Brenda Badham will be a new face at the quizmaster's table, so there is no anticipating the categories or degree of difficulty of the questions. This should add to the fun of the popular occasion and everyone is urged to come and join in.

Doors and bar open at 7.30 pm and the quiz will begin at 8. Entry fee of £2 per person is your way of supporting the hall fund and you may win a cash prize if you are lucky. You could also be fortunate in the mid-interval raffle. Do come and join in the fun, a warm welcome awaits everyone, whether as an individual or part of a group. Those who arrive on their own can always find people willing to include them in a team, so no one need feel left out.

The Jubilee Park and Nature Trail in East Williamston village is being very well used during the summer. Walkers may have noticed that some areas are becoming rather overgrown, but plans are in hand to undertake pruning and clearing in the autumn, which will involve co-ordinated activity by volunteers.

The community association meeting next month will include discussion of possible plans to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. It is hard to believe that 10 years will have passed since the golden jubilee was celebrated by the creation of Jubilee Park and Nature Trail, now a well-established part of the local scene.
